I love everything about this game except how hard it is to lose saiko. I agree with other comments, once she sees you it's pretty much game over. The stealth mechanics should be made more forgiving, hiding behind desks should be an option and her speed should be reduced some so you can lose her. Other than that, just general stuff like ironing out bugs. 4 out of 5.
Vcs vão continuar a atualizar também essas versões pro android e iphone por que tem muita gente que não tem um pc. Tomara que vcs atualizar para os celulares também, jogo de vcs são toooooop 👏👏👏
Hello! i love the game so far, i love the character, i just have one thing that bothers me which is the color of the atmosphere, i just feel like it strains your eyes even playing in light or dark. Is there a chance you guys can possibly lighten it up or change it differently? Other than that, i really love the game. Keep it up <3
Excellent game, but with some cons that weren't there in 1.9 :
Let me start with the pros :
1) The new map layout. It ressembles much more an actual school and I find it easier to remember what is where. Besides, I like the new dynamic of the Infirmary (and its key in the blood-filled sink =P) with the anti-ailment pills and the medpack that always spawns there. There's a lot of new details also. Good job on map redesign. Seriously.
2) The double personality of Saiko. It was there in 1.9, but only really was seen in the intro, otherwise she just wanted to kill you (except in Practice mode). Now, she can plod alongside you and even give you health back ! Thanks, babe. Besides, the mini-game where she locks you into a room isn't as deadly when she's in "friendly" mode : just find the key and meet her outside. She also sometimes feign attacks or stop attacking you, say "sorry", heals you (25 hp) and then plod along like a deranged girlfriend =D
3) The two possible endings. (Spoilers) It only comes down to if Saiko catches you with the Exit key, or not. It's a nice touch.
4) The sleeping mini-game. Once in while when she's with you in friendly mode, she will feed you sleeping pills, apparently. You'll still have some time to do some stuff before passing out, tho. When you wake up, you find yourself attached to the starting chair, with Saiko asleep on the principal's desk. Take the key near her and get ready to bolt for it, cause unlocking the door will anger her.
But now, the cons :
1) Saiko is unshakable. Once she spots you (and trust me, it WILL happen) you can basically restart the game, because she WON'T let you go and you can't juke/lose her, even when sprinting, nor hide. In 1.9, you used to be able to get her off your track if you crouch-hid behind the desks in the classrooms ; that's no longer the case as she will always spots you. Even with lights turned off. That in conjuction with wider and longer hallways makes it even harder to break line-of-sight. I don't mind her staying with me when she's friendly, but when she's in chase mode, that's just unbearable as you'll have to keep sprinting forever until you get lucky enough for her to randomly snap back to friendly (when she stops, hold her head in her hand and says "sorry"). The only room as of now that seems to be semi-consistant for juking her is the library as the bookcases seems imposing enough to reliably break LoS (hurray for literature !), but even there it doesn't always work. And the lockers are useless, even if she didn't see/hear you entering them as she will camp around the one you're in anyway, as if she knew you're in there... The only two times I was able to complete the game was due to her bugging and getting stuck =P . In all seriousness, please reduce her scouting capacities a bit...
2) The randomness of the shoes. Walking on glass shards now is much more punishing now as if you sprint afterward, you'll lose blood (and hp) fast ! That combined to not always have the time to unlock the infirmary is way too crippling (pun intended) due to how often Saiko will chase you (which requires you to sprint to stay alive). When the shoes appear in the hallways, it's ok, but there's been lots of attempts where I didn't even see a pixel of those green goodies. And the problem is that sometimes, you won't have a choice but to walk over glass shards (when she spots you in any room). In 1.9, you could avoid damage by crouch-walking over the shards (even without shoes), but that doesn't work anymore (t'was probably a bug, so fair enough =P) This pedestrian problem could be fixed by making the shoes only able to spawn only in hallways, or near the entrance lockers, where it would make sense =P hell even under the stairs, why not ? It would still have five to eight possible different random spawns (the four hallways, the entrance, the central stairs, the side stairs) but at least, it'd give you fair running capabilities against Saiko.
3) The breakers mini-game. While I wouldn't be against it if it was possible to shake off Saiko reliably, it's way too time-consuming in the current state of the game. The new breakers room is also much more of a death trap that what it was in 1.9. Walking in there is death sentence. Particularly, if she turn it off during your wandering.
4) The lack of difference between EASY and NORMAL difficulty. Nothing more to say. I didn't notice a difference between the two difficulties. Same problems happened ; Saiko has a freaking military-grade sonar is both difficulties =P
Conclusion : It's a great game full of interesting mechanics, but currently the difficulty/unfairness of it is worse than Dark Souls...
Of course, I'm not forcing the devs to apply the changes I proposed here. I'm just enouncing what I think would make for a fair (but still challenging) game.
Thanks for reading my essay in its entirety ; here, have a cookie =P
2.0.1 fixes lots of cons you mentioned , and now easy is normal and normal is hard the shoes can spawn near the exit gate racks or the starting brown racks on every hall. actually now the difference is that normal now formally hard is where saiko can shutoff power and also steal key . while in easy now formally normal she wont do those also the damage is half compared to hard mode.
Trust me, I really love this game ; it's even the only horror game that actually managed to genuinely scare me in a while !
It's just that it had some problems that made it feel a bit unfair at times. Thanks a lot for fixing those problems.
Also, I didn't know Saiko don't steal keys and turned off power in Easy (probably because she didn't do it that much to me in Normal either) but I guess I did notice I got a little less hurt from her attack in Easy.
Anyway, thanks for the clarifications and fixes ! Much appreciated.
Habupain (if I can call you that) if you would ever be interested in adding polish translation to this game (I love it) you can hit me up I will try to make it. (My e-mail, just in case piotrjab317@gmail.com)
We had a lot of fun playing your game! IT was TERRIFYING! There were many screams, squeels and giggles, and I'm so happy we had the chance to go through it. Thanks for making it!
every time it improves more and more, hehe add a basement haha this update shows what this game is becoming in the style of five nights ats freddys and yandere simulator..in my case my new favorite horror game, just an observation, no I know if it will be my pc but the walking animation looked better in 1.9 and currently there is no way to leave it behind haha it reached me ... but I will continue this game until the end, congratulations to the creators for such an excellent job ... the gameplay that I made, where I show the two endings (it is in Spanish) GREETINGS
I finally got my vid up. This is definitely the hardest update yet, but also A LOT of fun. It's crazy to see how much work you've done on this over the months. I got very close to getting the good ending a few times but have only gotten the bad ending so far. But i will not give up! Thank you for all your hard work on this amazing game! Much appreciated!
Good game so far. One thing I don't like is how she can teleport so quickly. I know coding AI is hard and all, but I would like it where you could listen to her footsteps and have her audio be relevant to her distance. Maybe some humming as well to help detect her. Then later in the game make it where she can become more stealthy.
Other than that I really enjoyed the game. Really scared the sht out of me when I heard knocking and seeing her in the window. What would be interesting is the ability to pick up objects and throw objects to distract. And maybe a wind up flashlight (which takes forever to charge when dead and are pretty terrible but makes sense in a horror setting to have bad flashlights) as your defense that you can use to blind her. However you have to periodically charge it as it doesn't hold it well and drains even faster after use. Winding also makes quite a bunch of noise in the process. And after awhile she'll get used to it and while try to shield her eyes the best she can.
Alpha 2.0 is AMAZING! Love this two personalities upgrade. Nice school re-design. Also I can't wait to see the two skins from the menu. It's still very hard to beat, tho... Or it's just me haha.
Pros and cons are down below) Check out my vid here (likes and subs are highly appreciated, of course <3):
As I'm writing these comments for each update, I'm going to discuss only this particular one)
Advantages:
1. The layout of the school now feels more interesting. It seems to be closer to the layout of actual schools and generally, I really liked it. There is a disadvantage to it that I'm going to mention later, though) I loved that you kept the misplaced chairs and tables from the last updates. Enjoyed the new cabinets in the classrooms a lot. They look cool, they make the player stay longer in the room so I think that's a great idea!
2. Two personalities! That's just amazing! Exactly what this game needed and I mentioned that in my last comment. Of course, such a change in mechanics has disadvantages as well (the 2d disadvantage below) but overall it's a great improvement to the game! I hope that in the next updates more ways of influencing Yandere's mood will be introduced. At the moment, the changes I saw were incredible. The new behavior of her offering drugs is also pretty cool. It's a pity that I haven't seen much of the other behaviors like talking to the player when they are in the locker and then leaving them (not even once :( ) but I guess that happens because her choice of behaviors is so wide that the probability of seeing particular ones is lower. The only last thing that I want to add here is that the change between the identities is perfect. It's partly clear but still makes the player wonder whether they are dealing with Yandere or Yangire. Very well done!
3. New mini-game for switching the lights on is very nice! I enjoyed that it keeps you in place but it's relatively easy and fast to solve at the same time! Can't wait for more)
Disadvantages:
1. The disadvantage of the new layout I mentioned before is that it's much harder to lose yandere when she noticed you. Before you had lots of corners and the distances were smaller. Now it's so much harder to make her lose sight of you! Also, the only new cabinets I disliked being in the first spawn room. The brown ones. They don't look interactable at all. They are too low and they look exactly like the rest of the closet. That's confusing.
2. OK, what I didn't like about new identities is that there's not many options to influence her mood (I guess I already mentioned that). Also, considering that it's so hard to lose her now it feels kinda unfair that she keeps stalking you constantly. I think it would be great if you could give Yandere (when she's nice) a small task (to fetch you healies or something like that) and that would make her run away (but then she'd get pissed that you hid from her). Or something like that.
3. At that point because the map became bigger and it's harder to sneak around it, it's incredibly important to make the difference between voice level and position distinctive so you would be able to know for sure where she's at the moment. How far and general direction as well. Right now it's confusing and luck-based whether you're going to run into her or not. I guess she could also become silent from time to time to fool you and stuff like that.
Overall:
Amazing update!) That was so great, I had lots of fun checking it our and I will for sure try my best to beat it) For now, I rate it 10 scary Yandere girls out of 10! Can't wait to see how the game will be improved next))
hi habipain, i am a big fan of your work and your wonderful game, but there is something that makes me a little sad, saiko no sutoka has no subtitles in PT-BR, and here in Brazil there are people who love your game very much really, so please put subtitles in Brazilian Portuguese, this is a request from a fan, not one but several <3 I'm looking forward to the next updates
Yes next update is already in testing phase and will be available soon it is big update with huge changes such as school overhaul and Saiko AI Overhaul with new additions
This update looks insane! I did notice that when I hid, it would seem she just disappears. Like I sometimes will hide in a locker and wait for her to talk, but I was sitting in lockers for almost 5-10 minutes at a time, which broke the tension for me. I haven't really ran into any bugs at the moment but like I mention in my video; there could be some items that can get added to make the gameplay a little interesting.
this game is really cool, but i believe the hide and seek feature is a little buggy and it lets the overall experience down just a tad. its even more difficult to complete in terms of escaping. Furthermore. im not used to crazy waifus strapping me into chairs lol but i understand this game is in early development looking forward to playing it again once the bugs are fixed.
Great work, do you think you will ever make more lore about who the main protagonist is. And who "he/him" is and will you ever make another good ending instead of finding the code to the safe to get out?
Probably your best friend. However if you are talking about the yandere could be referring to their alternate persona (Threw me off when they referred to them as such and talking about the other person) I say best/close friend since they'd probably get suspicious or yandere would get very jealous.
This game is amazing ngl. imagine playing this in multiplayer mode, wether one player as the yandere and the other has to escape, or 2 players have to escape. but i think the second one would be a bit weird :v
Should add a mode where your friend/random person is the killer and has to find you or multiple people, or where you can enable and disable some traps and add bigger cooldowns like the amount of time the killer and runner can sprint, or you surprise attack the killer and get them to lose their knife for a few seconds and if you hit them enough they start to lose their vision. (It would be lots of fun if you did these you don't have to they are just ideas I had)
this game is SO GOOD. i thought that some things would be cool, maybe having different endings.
like, you could fall in love with her someway and she would calm down and having some type of creepy "happy" ending where you kiss or something like that, or maybe you could kill her in one ending, or also saving your friend someway, i think that would be cool!
and maybe you could put some new type of traps, maybe some wires that hit you and slow you or something like that.
or also different types of walking by her, maybe with some tics at the arms or at the face/head.
you could also add a mode where you are chased (and loved, even if the yandere doesn't want other people, maybe they could be sisters or something like that, i don't know) by TWO of them, but maybe the other one with different hair and eye color (like purple for example) that would be so cool, and also very very difficult to play ahahah.
and i think that a little lore would be really cool!
also, when you put the shoes they are kinda bugged sometimes and in the intro, her fingers pass through the knife, but it's not a big deal, you can fix it kinda easily i think.
maybe for the escape also, you could try to call the police finding a phone and the batteries (like an old phone), so you have another way of getting out, and when you get able to call the police (also cause the police works at night so it would make sense), you just need to survive until they arrive (for like 5-10 mins or i don't know), but she will get a huge boost, she will maybe one or bishot you (it should have some rates like 75% oneshot, 25% she lets you survive with like 25 hp), her speed will increase, she will be able to hear all the stuff and she could start screaming (not too loud, but in a very creepy way) sometimes, and her eyes could "open" pouring blood from them, and the mouth should open too, but smiling a lot . otherwise, you can just escape by the default way.
And i also think that at random times, after some time, if you are slow in finding stuff etc... she could start having that boost, but not that powerful, so you can experience it even if you escape by the default way. maybe everything would be dark and you could see only the eyes and you can only have a little field of view for the stuff around you while she walks faster all the time until the boost ends. (like when she catches you and brings you in the class). and you could put also a different ost, like the "bass drop" scary one, but more anxious. But this should last for only 1-2 minutes, and she doesn't need to be that powerful, it's just for making the experience in game even more creepy!
This dude right here is a fucking genius. About the "Happy ending" thing i though on something like that: You find all the hints, and do some specific things, then you get the key to the exit, you go to the exit but just stop there, without leaving, and then you turn around and she is standing right there, you keep still, then she approaches and hug you. And then she say something like "Now we can stay together forever" and you hear the keys drop in the floor, and the "Happy Ending" Appears. It would br like a dream for me~
In this scenario with how she is. I don't think a love ending would be possible. She already has blood on her hands and quite unstable. A real life case actually happened awhile back where she literally killed her lover and wrote in his blood about how much she loved him. There's a photo of her smiling in the backseat of a police car and it got a bit attention because a bunch of degenerate weebs went out saying "I'd smash, I'd love her, she'd be a great gf" when irl. You really be saying otherwise when she's cutting you up for talking to a girl even though that person was your mother.
However it is a game and it would be great if you could help her break free of the attachment (as in being overly attached) and then having to dump the body or frame someone in order for it to be possible. I think they might be sticking to horror though as a genre, or finish the horror aspects of the game. But at least this game has a happy ending that you earn.

Hope my feedback was useful!
You can't lose her because she is always behind you. Better rush to every room and grab all the keys ASAP and escape. :))
yep currently thats a bug ... and its being patched along with adding 4 new places to hide from her under the stair ways
hi habipain, i am a big fan of your work and your wonderful game, but there is something that makes me a little sad, saiko no sutoka has no subtitles in PT-BR, and here in Brazil there are people who love your game very much really, so please put subtitles in Brazilian Portuguese, this is a request from a fan, not one but several <3 I'm looking forward to the next updates
I'm also looking forward to a Portuguese translation ;)

This update looks insane! I did notice that when I hid, it would seem she just disappears. Like I sometimes will hide in a locker and wait for her to talk, but I was sitting in lockers for almost 5-10 minutes at a time, which broke the tension for me. I haven't really ran into any bugs at the moment but like I mention in my video; there could be some items that can get added to make the gameplay a little interesting.
here's a part 2 on my channel
this game is really cool, but i believe the hide and seek feature is a little buggy and it lets the overall experience down just a tad. its even more difficult to complete in terms of escaping.
Tell me what do you think about this! ^^
